ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Ø Enacting policies and procedures as directed by the Shop Supervisor and in accordance with RS/QC Manual
Ø Provide leadership, technical expertise and guidance while performing various operational, functional tests and repairs of avionics/electronic, aircraft equipment and systems to ensure a defect free aircraft.
Ø Reviewing technical data to be used and presenting it to the assigned inspector for review and acceptance if there is any doubt about it applicability or acceptability, before beginning work
Ø Ensuring that established requirements concerning maintenance/alterations on airframe and PowerPlant are met with efficiency
Ø Assisting and advising the shop supervisor in planning maintenance, assigning resources and monitoring work accomplishment
Ø Checking for the proper and accurate completion of all required records and documentation to be completed by assigned technicians
Ø Informing the shop supervisor of all maintenance work not completed as required in the continuity of maintenance program for unfinished work
Ø Verifying the proper use of repair station test equipment used by the assigned technicians reporting adverse findings with corrective action as appropriate
Ø Determines the eligibility of maintenance/alterations for an article and component thereof based on a review of the repair station’s operations specifications and capability list if utilized, and work order
Ø Ensuring that the work area is cleaned at the end of the shift or task, whichever comes first
Ø Reports production, job safety and facility deficiencies to management, including policy and procedures
Ø Responsible for the quality of work being performed, man-hours expended, interpretation of written and verbal instructions as well as job assignments and job priorities as dictated by the applicable department supervisor
Ø Reports production delays, cost changes or other problems to the applicable department supervisor
Ø Ensures employees receive and document on the job training
Ø Delegate duties and responsibilities to subordinates while maintaining responsibility for subordinate actions
Ø Responsible for the protection of aircraft and equipment, paying particular attention to the protection of aircraft interiors and components removed from the aircraft
Ø Coordinates internal and external customer needs with other departments
Ø Monitors, directs and controls production goals and schedules
Ø Reviews and keeps up to date on: (a) all the latest publications: maintenance manual, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, customer information bulletins, etc., (b) revisions to any other information that may pertain to maintenance, inspections including changes that may affect man-hours within a work scope
Ø Trains and assists direct reports in proper work procedures and practices to be followed
Ø Other duties may be assigned, as needed
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will supervise un-certificated and certified technicians.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Ø High school diploma and two (2) years of technical School, and a minimum of three (3) years of corporate aircraft experience or;
Ø Associate’s degree in aviation management, plus two (2) years of technical experience;
Ø Previous experience as a lead preferred
Ø Airframe and PowerPlant certificate required. Note: Repairman certificate acceptable for avionics positions
Ø Ability to meet projected deadlines within the manpower allocation for that task
Ø Working knowledge of manufacturer’s inspection programs
Ø Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulation – Parts 21, 23, 25, 43, 65, 91, 135 and 145.
Ø Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of management
Ø Proven leadership with ability to motivate direct reports
Ø Excellent written and oral communication skills
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ø Must be able to read and understand technical manuals
Ø Must be able to communicate well both orally and written in order to interact with outside agencies, vendors and customers
Ø Since English is the language of aviation, the technician must be able to effectively, proficiently, and clearly speak and understand the language
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ø General math knowledge is required.
REASONING ABILITY:
The lead technician must have the ability to manage time appropriately; ability to prioritize projects; ability to analyze, evaluate situations, and determine the best solution.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Ø A&P certificate preferred
Ø Repairman‘s certificate is acceptable.
Ø Must also be able to pass an FAA required 10-year background check

The employee must be able to work in both a heavy maintenance environment and in upscale customer areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircrafts arrive/depart. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. The Hangar environment may be extreme hot and cost during certain seasons of the year. |
