This position reports to the Plant Operations Manager and has responsibility for all aspects associated with production control and planning operations at Progressive Inc. The position requires extensive knowledge and experience in all phases of machining processes, part identification and traceability, material handling practices, production planning/routing, tooling, machine maintenance and facilities. Position requires extensive background experience within the aerospace industry and in-depth knowledge of raw material types, alloys, temper and grain direction requirements. Incumbents must ensure that all manufacturing operations are planned in accordance with customer engineering design. This position requires the ability to read and accurately interpret engineering drawings and specifications and to apply that interpretation to the manufacture/fabrication of production hardware. Incumbent must have working knowledge of BaaN MRP software applications. The position requires cooperation and interaction with other members of the Progressive Management team, including Manufacturing Operations, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, N/C Programming and Maintenance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Coordinate with Program Managers, Manufacturing Planner, Buyer and Operations Management to maintain awareness of new production requirements, production changes, and status of work-in-progress.
- Schedule the release of orders for production, maintain awareness of work-in-progress status, identify and recommend production schedules to minimize effect of bottlenecks or production disruptions. Ensure all production is accurately maintained in BaaN.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing Planner and Quality Control to integrate rework into production schedule.
- Ensure work released to the shop has the appropriate and approved planning documentation and raw materials are available and assigned.
- Maintain traceability and accountability for parts as required during the manufacturing cycle; perform regular audits of production documentation to ensure standard practices and quality principles are followed.
- Assisting with the prioritization and management of production schedules through coordination with functional managers.
- May participate as a member of the Corrective Action Board (CAB) and/or evaluate Corrective Action Report (CAR) to provide input as relevant for each specific situation.

| Requirements: |
Computer literacy: Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Qualified candidates would have the following:
- 3-5 years experience in a Manufacturing Planning or Production Control environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining procedures and practices; familiarity with machining operations and typical machining hazards or malfunctions affecting production
- Familiarity with MRP/ERP
- Communication
- Problem analysis and problem resolution at strategic and functional levels
- Computer proficiency
ITAR Requirements:Incumbent will have access to ITAR controlled information as a result of their regular duties; must meet eligibility to work in the United States. |
