Duties and Responsibilities:
Review the available service bulletins, technical directives, airworthiness (ADs), Fleet Modification Instruction (FMI), and other material and identify documents affectivity for updates.
Review engineering work orders, sketches/drawings, and parts lists to integrate and delineate upgraded information into the document.
Conduct interviews with engineers, maintenance technicians, project pilots, quality assurance personnel, and other aircraft subject matter experts (SMEs) to capture technical information for incorporation into AOD maintenance manuals, flight manuals, checklists, and other related publications.
Research and analyze available technical information. Write and re-write technical data and validate upgraded information with SMEs
Translate technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel.
Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards.
Coordinate with the maintenance technicians to access the aircraft in order to validate the written content on the aircraft modification effort.
Prepare meeting minutes and action items list and follow through until actions are closed.
Coordinate with document development team to provide written information for document development and processing.
Select and/or develop photographs, drawings, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material for incorporation in tech manuals.
Take digital photographs for reference and incorporating into projects as required.
Quality check the hard copy and electronic files of the documents to ensure all requirements are met prior to submitting documents to external in-process review and final delivery.
Provide Technical Publication Manager with the estimated scope of work for cost preparation.
Prepare and update Project Schedules and customer Agreement documentation as required.
Maintain configuration control of electronic files as well as hard copy historical files.
