This position is a shorter term assignment based in Bogota, Colombia. It is a key piece of ARINC’s logistical support efforts in South America. If selected you would play a critical role in the maintenance and sustainment effort of our A-37 / J-85 engine sustainment program. You would have the chance to make a difference in their military’s readiness while earning significant income.
If selected you will be performing all facets of J-85 engine maintenance and technical services related to the J-85 engine platform. This will include but is not limited to the following: troubleshooting, inspections, removal, installation, and operational checks of all J-85 engine systems and components.
Because of the significant knowledge, and responsibility of this position you will also be required to provide expert J-85 engine technical advice and oversight. This responsibility is linked to the Peruvian military’s A-37 programmed J-85 engine 1200 hour inspections. Finally you will also be required to submit J-85 engine status reports as requested by supervision.
This work will be performed at the customer’s designated location in Bogota, Colombia and will require you to interface with ARINC’s in-country program management as well as foreign military representatives. This is a short term assignment offering full per diem, travel accommodations and the possibility of overtime. Due to the geographic location, and assignment type additional hardship incentives will be offered. To be considered for this position you must have a minimum of 5 years of J-85 engine maintenance experience. This must include inspecting, troubleshooting, removing, installing, and performing operational checkouts of all J-85 engines and engine systems components. Candidates need to have experience performing critical in-progress inspections during 1200 hour PE overhaul operations. You must also have experience working with technical manuals, modification work orders, engineering drawings, and maintenance records.
Other specific qualifications we require are: - Ability to work independently, or as part of a team, with little or no supervision. - Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. - Willingness to work long hours as necessary, while adhering to strict regulatory specifications and guidance. - Able to deploy to a foreign country for periods of no less than four months at a time. - Compliant with the FAA and DoD’s anti-drug/alcohol misuse and prevention programs that include random drug testing. - Able to walk, sit, stand, climb, crawl, twist, bend, lie on creepers, gain entry to and work in confined areas, and work from elevated platforms (reached from ladders and powered lifts). - Able to lift, carry, move, push, pull and install 30-50 lb components unassisted, have 20/20 corrected vision, good hearing, and be willing to wear all required safety equipment (Personal Protective Equipment - PPE).

Related J-85 engine military experience and Spanish speaking abilities desired.
