StandardAero’s Houston, Texas facility houses one of North America’s most capable corporate jet services facilities. For over 35 years the Houston operation has served the corporate aviation community. With over 85 technicians, each averaging 10 years of employment at Houston, we can perform virtually any maintenance event-scheduled or unscheduled. We are an authorized service center for: Bombardier Learjet, Dassault Falcon Jet, Lockheed JetStar and Honeywell TFE-731 engines.
Houston services a wide range of corporate aircraft, which include: Bombardier Learjet (all models), Cessna Citation (500/600), Dassault Falcon Jet (all models), Galaxy Aerospace, Gulfstream (II, III, IV), Lockeed JetStar and Raytheon Hawker (thru 800).
AVIONICS TECHNICIAN (HOUSTON)
The Avionics Technician performs functional/operational checkouts of, troubleshoots and repairs avionics/electrical, instrument and flight control systems. Also installs avionics systems and components, and rewires complete electrical systems while being able to perform these duties and be familiar on a variety of aircraft and aircraft systems. The Avionics Technician uses sound judgment and technical aptitude to make decisions regarding installation, troubleshooting, and discrepancy resolution being technically competent and able to accomplish most of his/her duties with minimal supervision. This work must be performed competently, expeditiously, and in a timely manner to ensure on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, and profitability. As customers are on site at the facilities, professional appearance and communication skills are required in order to create a positive and lasting professional relationship with direct and openly communicates with supervisor regarding the status and time frame of repairs.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoots and repairs Electrical Systems, Flight Management Systems, Satcom and Airborne Telephone Systems, communications, navigation, radar, TCAS/XPDR, DME, EGPWS/TAWS, autopilot/flight director, audio, ADF, Cabin Management/In-flight Entertainment, and other sophisticated avionics /electronics systems.
Provides battery service for aircraft in-house and maintains battery shop equipment and ensures that aircraft batteries are properly charged in a timely manner.
Maintains continuous communication with supervisor regarding the status of avionics work on their aircraft.
Uses electrical hand tools, testing equipment, and soldering equipment.
Documents all work accomplished in a clear, concise and accurate manner.
Overtime and travel to customer locations or other Standard Aero facilities may be required.
Responsible for knowing, understanding, following, promoting and continuously improving company policies and procedures.
Observes all safety, environmental and general housekeeping rules and policies.
Other duties may be assigned based on business needs.

| Requirements: |
High school diploma or equivalent.
Formal avionics systems and electronics education/training. - Five (5) + years of experience in electronics and/or avionics in the aviation industry or military equivalent.
Experience with corporate aviation preferred but not required.
A&P and FCC licenses preferred, but not required.
Installation of avionics and electrical systems on a variety of aircraft desired.
Must be able to read and understand wiring diagrams and perform wiring functions.
Able to walk long distances, bend, crawl, stretch, climb, and lift up to 75 pounds.
