Responsible for auditing, oversight, verification and adherence to Bell quality policy and procedures. Supervises and approves acceptable work, rejects any work that fails to meet required standards and recommends corrective action to prevent recurrence. Document all nonconformance, rework or repair in the applicable system. Responsible for complete inspections of each aircraft or assembly for safe and proper functioning. Responsible for logbook review and release of aircraft ensuring maintenance actions are complete and aircraft is acceptable for ground or flight operations. Preparation for flight inspection reports and all other necessary data for complete and final inspection prior to aircraft release for flight. Ensures compliance through verification of specifications from blueprints, research, experimental designs and engineering orders. Determines from maintenance manuals, visual inspection or special test equipment, proper standards and specifications of mechanisms and motors, instruments, materials and finishes, operations of and workmanship on all aircraft related assemblies. Manages all DOS / DOD and Bell Helicopter maintenance programs to include Tool Control, FOD and HAZMAT.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Position Requirements:
Six to nine years experience as lead mechanic or quality assurance representative.
Must be proficient with inspection practices & tools such as micrometers, calipers, scales, etc. Must have proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, excel, word, etc.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Must possess a valid FAA A&P License, Inspector Authorization a plus.
Must be willing to deploy to Iraq for six to twelve months.
Preferences:
Two years college in business or related field. Extensive military or industry training may be substituted for college.
Ten plus years hands-on quality assurance experience with extensive knowledge of Aviation Quality Assurance Discipline.
Possess current experience with Department of Defense-related quality compliance standards and audits. Six Sigma Certification a plus.
