Well-known aerospace company in Monroe, NC is looking for an Aircraft Technician for a 6 month contract assignment.
Description FAA - DOT drug screen required! Pay rate - $10 - 12/hr
Position Purpose/Objective: Reporting to the Section Lead, as the Associate Technician, you will work according to technical data, perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul work on various aircraft components in our Power Electronics department.
Essential Responsibilities: • Work according to technical data, perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul work on various electrical aircraft components. • Ensure work is completed in accordance with Turn Around Time requirements. • Participate in shop and facility Continuous Improvement activities and initiatives. • Perform shop audits as scheduled. Perform area cleaning and maintenance as posted or required. • Demonstrate awareness and understanding of the EHS policy and management system, the importance of conforming with EHS policies and procedures, and consequences of failing to comply with EHS policies and procedures. Demonstrate knowledge of EHS risks and impacts of work activities and the benefits of improving EHS performance. Acquire necessary EHS competencies in accordance with EH&S-MS002, EHS Competencies & Training policy/procedure.
Basic Qualifications : Education Required: • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. • Two years of post high school education may be considered for candidates with little or no work experience.
Experience Required: • Two years of past work experience in a similar field, or at least 2 years of post high school education are required. • Strong knowledge of electrical wiring/circuit boards required. • Experience with calibration equipment, blueprints, schematics, and precision measuring equipment preferred. • Past aerospace industry experience preferred.
Skills Required: • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude • Ability to read, understand and interpret Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM) and other repair/maintenance manuals and technical data • Ability to learn on the job • Ability to work multiple shifts • Basic computer skills in Word, Excel, etc. • Knowledge of blueprints, schematics, calibration equipment, gages, precision measuring equipment is preferred • Ability to lift at least 40 lbs.
