ARINC Technical Services, LLC is looking for a Senior Avionics, Electrical System and Sensors Technician to act as a Mi-17 Avionics & Sensor Systems Maintenance Advisor in Taji, Iraq. This position is a critical piece of ARINC’s logistical, engineering and maintenance support of the Iraqi military. If hired for this position you would be filling a vital role in the upkeep and sustainment of their Mi-17 helicopter assets.
Other duties performed by this position are: - Mentor Iraqi personnel in the launch and recovery; preflight; BPO; component removal and replacement; refuel/defuel, maintenance actions, systems troubleshooting, operational checks, rigging procedures and certify air worthiness standards. - Working with avionics and sensor systems including the L-3 EO/IR MX-15Di FLIR, EADs defensive system and Star SAFIRE FLIR system. - Oversee & train Iraqi Air Force personnel in Mi-17 avionics, electrical and sensor system maintenance requirements, standards and procedures. - Perform avionics, electrical and sensor system operational checks, inspections and malfunction analysis. - Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Mi-17 avionics, electrical and sensor system maintenance and repair. - Inspect work performed by Iraqi maintenance personnel and provide advice and assistance to correct discrepancies. - Certify work to applicable airworthiness standards. - Position requires overseas travels for 12 months.
Required Experience: To be considered for this position you must have eight (8) or more years of heavy avionics, sensor and electrical system experience in the maintenance, modification and repair of military helicopters. You must also be able to mentor, inspect and oversee the work of foreign military maintenance personnel.
Other requirements of this position are: - Possess in-depth knowledge in rotor wing avionics, sensor and electrical system installation, maintenance, modification, troubleshooting and repair. - Ability to certify work to applicable airworthiness standards. - Experienced in general rotary wing maintenance to include launch and recovery, preflight testing, BPO, component removal and replacement and refuel/defuel procedures. - Experienced with AAR-60 MWS, APR-39, and ALE47/AAR-47 MWS systems - Able to read and interpret electrical schematics and blue prints and perform maintenance actions at operational or intermediate level facilities. - Able to evaluate maintenance, modification and repair activities for regulatory compliance and air worthiness. - Experienced in performing on-the-job training and maintenance team management. - Proficient in the use of common hand tools, crimpers, strippers, air tools, and measuring / test equipment. - Knowledge of: supply system process and management; performing maintenance to the standard of relevant technical manuals; performing maintenance and logistics operations in foreign countries. - Knowledge of aircraft maintenance forms, documentation procedures and serial number / controlled items accountability. - Possess strong computer skills to include developing documents in Microsoft Word and Excel and working within Microsoft Outlook. - Able to meet strict medical profile deployment requirements to include the ability to lift 75 lbs or more. - Must possess a valid United States driver’s license and passport with expiration date no earlier than April 2012.

Desired Experience: - Preference may be given to candidates fluent in Arabic and/or Russian. - Heavy avionics and / or electrical experience on the Mi-17/171helicopter.
