Job Description: The Maintenance Controller supports the maintenance department by providing assistance and advice to mechanics performing maintenance and repair tasks on aircraft and equipment.
Duties and responsibilities include managing and supervising line station mechanics and performing routine and non-routine maintenance to ensure compliance with GMM policies and procedures. The Maintenance Controller will also be responsible for researching approved sources and distributing technical and operational instructions to line maintenance personnel and completing DYA-MF-94, found in the Maintenance Forms Manual (MFM), and notifying System Operations Control of maintenance status of the aircraft. This position will be receiving, recording and approving (if applicable) requests to assign Minimum Equipment, Configuration Deviation List, NEF and MCO control numbers to aircraft, and ensuring that aircraft are in compliance with the requirements for MEL/CDL deferral. The Maintenance Controller will record all applicable data and enter the deferred items into the tracking system. Responsibilities also include ensuring appropriate, timely action is taken to correct inoperative MEL/CDL and other deferred items, expediting requests for parts, supplies and technical assistance in support of line maintenance and maintaining liaison with Operations personnel to schedule and expedite clearing of deferred items, performing required maintenance, repair while maintaining schedule. This position will be responsible for researching and recording data for delay reports, maintenance reliability, in service reports and other unscheduled maintenance events and providing estimated time for return to service for out-of-service aircraft and the status of deferred items. Finally, responsibilities will include reviews of log sheets and other work documents as received to ensure they are complete and accurate for the maintenance performed prior to aircraft release.
