Requiring at least 10+ years experience in analysis of aircraft composite and metallic components and assemblies, the successful candidate for this position will be responsible for developing structural analysis plans, performing various levels of analytical validation of aircraft structures, generating structural substantiation reports, and supporting internal and external design reviews. Experience with closed-form classical analysis and finite element methods of composite structures using FEMAPS/NASTRAN or PATRAN/NASTRAN is a must. Knowledge of structural allowables and property development and how they are used is required (A & B – Basis allowables and application of Mil-Hdbk-5, MMPDS, and Mil-Hdbk-17). 14 CFR Part (FAR) 23, 25, 27, and 29 familiarity is a benefit.
Education:
Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET accredited institution. Although not required, candidates with experience using the following computer aided engineering tools will be preferred; Altair Hypermesh, LS-Dyna, FiberSim. Candidates with analysis experience of aircraft external fairing structures and/or aircraft interiors will also be preferred. Equal Opportunity Employer
