General Responsibilities:

Plans and directs activities concerned with development, application and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials and products by performing the following duties:

Develops applies and leads advanced Quality Engineering theories and methods, such as:  six-sigma, 8-step, practical problem solving, and DOE.

Also leads the development, establishment and maintenance of quality assurance/control policies, procedures and methods.

Develops sampling plans, quality standards and quality control/ inspection instructions to be utilized by manufacturing, test and inspection in assessing the quality levels of products and processes.

Provides recommendations concerning the disposition of defective materials.

Must be able to lead, facilitate and drive issues and corrective actions to closure – from cradle to grave.

Must be able to create and execute standard monthly reporting formats (Excel, Word etc) data assimilation, pareto charts  - trending both internal and high customer impact issues.

Experienced in the mechanical inspection of parts and applying visual standards and inspection criteria.

Has excellent knowledge of GD&T and drawing reading/interpretation.

Conducts investigations of considerable complexity pertaining to the manufacture of new products, the establishment of new processes or the resolution of complex product quality problems.

Provide technical guidance and training to lower level engineers, technicians and inspectors.

Performs other related duties as required.
