Position Summary: The Director of Aviation Maintenance shall provide strategic leadership and management of the activities, operation and personnel of the Maintenance Department. This position is a combination of an operational and strategic manager but is predominately strategic. Establish and achieve the company and customer’s goal and objectives and maintain the highest level of safety, service and standards.
Assigned Responsibilities & Duties:
· Plans maintenance goals and activities through research, evaluation, review and assessment of future needs; makes recommendations and implements necessary improvements and modifications to ensure safety and alignment to customer’s goals and objectives.
· Works closely with Customer advising of all maintenance matters related to the fleet.
· Provides leadership to subordinate managers and supervisors by establishing, assigning, planning, organizing and prioritizing maintenance goals and objectives and standards for equipment and manpower; assists subordinate managers and supervisors with the coordination of personnel and equipment task assignments to ensure efficient completion.
· Represents the maintenance section at meetings with customer to present plans, projects, programs and activities and to discuss and/or coordinate matters involving customer’s objectives.
· Drives staff development initiatives to instill shared company/customer values and enhance core competencies across functions, operation and /or the organization; initiates and implements programs to develop, build up and encourage performance strengths of maintenance personnel.
· Developing and implementing an aircraft fleet maintenance management system which supports the planning, execution, and quality of all scheduled maintenance requirements and corrective actions related to any discrepancies and unscheduled maintenance events.
· Establishing, maintaining, and ensuring the accuracy of all maintenance records as required by the FAR’s
· Oversight of the tracking, management, and execution of any valid warranty claims related to the fleet and/or aircraft components
· Analysis of weekly reliability, discrepancy reports and presenting findings
· Working closely with the aircraft and aircraft component OEM’s to ensure quality
· Reviewing and evaluating maintenance training records
· Directing compliance of minimum equipment list (MEL) maintenance procedures
· Working with the Director of Operations to coordinate day to day operations and key activities
