Basic Core Skills and Qualifications
· One (1) year aircraft experience desired and completion of Aviation School or one (1) year experience with OJT certification on selected tasks.
· Must be able to pass comprehensive testing, demonstrate practical knowledge after training and successfully complete examination by the Plane Captain Board to become a qualified Plane Captain within 120 days.
· Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
· Experience with requisitioning and ordering supplies and materials.
· Experience with using reference publications and conducting research.
· Experience with personal computers, software programs and/or a mainframe application is desired for data entry duties.
· Must have basic mechanical aptitude including the use of hand tools such as, screwdrivers, flashlights and other necessary tools.
· Must possess strong communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to work with personnel at all levels in a professional manner.
· Must possess full mobility of all extremities for tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds.
· Must be willing to travel and work on detachments and remote locations, work irregular shifts, weekends, holidays or shifts that include Saturdays/Sundays as part of the workweek.
· Must be able to reference and interpret published local work instructions.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license.
· Must be motivated, eager to learn and have a positive attitude.
· Work with minimal supervision or guidance.
