AVENGE, INC. is seeking a full-time, experienced Aerial Imagery Sensor Equipment Maintenance Instructors for our Enhanced Medium Altitude Reconnaissance and Surveillance System Integrated Process Team (EMARSS). This is a key position responsible for the New Equipment Training (NET) for the US Army next generation Fixed Wing C4ISR Platform.


  • Current MARSS/Guardrail or similar experienced Maintainer/Instructor
  • Former DoD qualified Airborne Imagery Sensor Equipment Maintainer/Instructor
  • Former DoD experience – TF ODIN I or A experience desired
  • King Air 200/300/350 ER experience is desired

This is a full time salaried position located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD with travel of up to 50% for program execution both CONUS and OCONUS.  At this time the candidate must reside at or within reasonable commuting distance (MD, Southern PA, Northern VA, and DE) of APG.


Initially the program will have limited flying with a program focus on:


  • Program of Instruction (POI) Development IAW TRADOC/DoD and ASAT Courseware
  • Technical manuals and Aircrew Training Manual (ATM) Development
  • SME support to Hawker Beech and Boeing
  • Assisting the PM and Deputy PM with program execution
  • Integrated Flight Training Device acquisition and testing
  • Direct interface with Army Customers

Once the POIs are approved and the training is ready the emphasis will shift to:


  • Conducting NET for the US Army – Location TBD for approx 90-120 Days
  • Providing SME support to the Army Initial Key Personnel (IKP) and conduct individual qualification for selected Army, DAC and CLS personnel.
  • Along with your Army counterpart, represent the EMARSS training in professional forums and events

The Airborne Imagery Sensor Equipment Maintenance Instructor will report directly to the Senior Mission Operator Instructor. In addition you will work collaboratively with the Pilots, GEOINT Payload Operator Instructor, SIGINT Payload Maintenance Instructor, customers and all related sub contractors. You will be directly responsible for the successful development, implementation and execution of the EMARSS training documents and plans of instruction for airborne sensor equipment operations.

Requirements:

Experience Requirements:


  • Prior military/aviation maintenance experience preferred.
  • Prior Army MOS 35T or equivalent preferred.
  • Must understand concepts of basic electronic and RF signal flow, be able to read and comprehend engineering schematics, wiring diagrams, and signal-flow diagrams.
  • Knowledge of wave theory in regards to antennas and signal propagation is recommended.
  • Understand concepts of networking. Possess operational and troubleshooting knowledge of WESCAM MX series of cameras.
  • Must be able to operate and troubleshoot all mission equipment, and be knowledgeable in using all software and equipment to their fullest capability in order to quickly identify erroneous write-ups generated by user-error.
  • Must be proficient in using various cryptographic devices (CYZ-10, SKL, etc.) and understand how to load each device that requires encryption keys (ARC-231, PRC-117G, PW-150, etc.)
  • The operator must know and understand various cryptographic keys.
  • The operator must know how to program radios with various types of nets (Line-of-Sight, SATCOM, Frequency Hopping, High Performance Waveform).
  • Must have prior experience using Microsoft Windows based software and Distributed Common Ground System-ARMY.
  • Experience using spectrum analyzers, volt/watt meters, cable construction, laser bore-sight, and other test equipment recommended.
  • Responsible for training system level maintenance to Army personnel, generating course material including programs of instruction, student hand-outs, technical manual development and checklists.
  • Conduct instruction both in a classroom and on an aircraft.
  • Prior military aircraft maintenance experience and in-theater military A-ISR support experience preferred.
  • Basic electronics, computer networking, and radio communications experience preferred.

Education and Training:


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Four year College Degree in related field strongly preferred, significant practical training and experience may be substituted
  • Two years of relevant experience
  • Relevant Department of Defense training strongly preferred
  • Must be a U.S Citizen.
  • Must possess a minimum of a SECRET clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance and maintain a current FAA Class III flight physical and altitude chamber.
