| Job Desc: |
RESPONSI BILITIES: Non-Metallics/Composite Engineer in the Materials and Processes Technology (M&PT) Department of Client’s Rotorcraft’s Mesa, Arizona facility. Responsible for resolving materials and processes issues as they relate to the design and manufacture of non-metallic/composite components. Apply engineering knowledge to write engineering standards and develop research projects to resolve problems and improve manufacturing processes. Ability to write detailed, well-written engineering reports. Able to interface technically with internal and external customers. Develop and qualify new materials and processes to meet program requirements. Manage test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements. Conduct analysis to determine reasons for failures of materials, parts or processes. Work with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers to exchange technical data and to discuss project performance. Works under minimal supervision. Material & process engineering experience in support of composite rotor blades is preferred.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor’s and 5 or more years’ experience, Master’s degree with 3 or more years’ experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Engineering experience with non-metallics/composites and adhesive bonding required.
WORK HOURS: 7:00 - 3:30 ADDITIONAL WORK SCHEDULE DETAILS: WORKLOAD MAY REQUIRE WORK WEEKS IN EXCESS OF 32 HOURS.
TRAVEL REQUIRED: YES TRAVEL DESCRIPTION: Periodic travel may be required to provide support to our suppliers and subcontractors.
