Position Description


The Business Development and Strategy (BD&S) analyst leverages working knowledge of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) transactions to support all aspects of M&A execution including strategic assessment, cultivation, due diligence, valuation, negotiations, integration and post-closing performance assessment. Transaction activity may include acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and equity investments. Boeing is an active participant in the M&A market having completed over 50 transactions in the last several years with enterprise value of more than $10B. Boeing also maintains a robust pipeline of transactions in progress. The BD&S analyst leads complex financial analysis and valuation of M&A opportunities and coordinates Boeing’s valuation task force, which efforts require in-depth knowledge of financial statements and Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) and expertise in various valuation methodologies. The analyst also conducts detailed due diligence investigations, assessing market/industry dynamics, all aspects of target company capabilities and performance, and possible transaction consequences for Boeing. The BD&S analyst leverages project management skills to ensure cross-functional engagement and accountability throughout M&A process. The BD&S analyst develops key messages and prepares presentations for M&A decision-making and communications, including CEO and Board approval of M&A transactions. The BD&S analyst also provides analytic and presentation support to BD&S leadership across a variety of strategic priorities, interacting regularly with various Boeing executive leadership. Specific responsibilities of the position include: - Extensive financial modeling and valuation analyses for M&A activities - M&A execution support including coordination of due diligence, deal structuring and post-closing performance evaluation - Analytic and presentation support for various strategic analyses - Coordination of departmental priorities to ensure continued maturation of Boeing M&A capabilities - Maintenance of BD&S transaction history and presentation archive - Coordination of BD&S compliance requirements - Internal and external management of unsolicited opportunities - Active engagement in the Mergers and Acquisitions Leadership Team. The position is expected to work on multiple high priority projects simultaneously while working in a team environment. Effective coordination and support of business units and constructive engagement with colleagues across the enterprise are critical components of the job.
