Position Summary: Responsible for assisting Aircraft and Sheet Metal Mechanics in the assembly and disassembly of aircraft and components, assisting qualified mechanics in the performance of aircraft system checks, and servicing and washing of aircraft.  

Duties and Responsibilities: 

·         Assisting aircraft and Sheet Metal Mechanics in assembly and disassembly of aircraft and components

·         Assisting qualified mechanics in the performance of aircraft system checks, and servicing and washing of aircraft. 

·         Responsible and accountable for producing quality work to prescribed standards with a focus on continuous improvement to meet customer commitments on scheduled and within budget. 

·         Follows written work instructions, must maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures including those which govern the handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment

·         Proper use of required PPE. 

·         May participate in LEAN Events, "Six S" activities, action teams etc. 

·         Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.

·         Other duties as required.

Basic Qualifications

·         1 year in machine or sheet metal shop practices required

·         High school diploma or GED required.  

·         A technical school degree is preferred, but not required.

·         C-130 aircraft experience a plus 

Physical Requirements:  Lifting, walking, climbing, bending, sitting, standing, stooping, light manufacturing, heavy manufacturing.
