Responding to market demand, Agusta formed its North American subsidiary, then called Agusta Aviation, in 1981, with headquarters in Houston, TX. Now renamed AgustaWestland Philadelphia Corporation(AWP), to reflect its broader role and mission, the company operates out of a multi-million dollar, 75,000 square foot headquarters facility in Philadelphia, PA.
United States, Canadian, South American, and Central American sales, along with service support, are conducted from AWP. Complete support capabilities include: Airframe/sheet metal fabricationComponents overhaulParts inventory Routine inspectionsPilot and mechanic trainingA109/A119 completions all provided from the fly-in service hangar located within the headquarters complex.
On October 29, 2004, AgustaWestland opened the expansion to the manufacturing facility of AgustaWestland Philadelphia Corporation, to build the A119 Koala helicopter used by civilian and law enforcement customers. This new facility adds a state-of-the-art, 40,000 square foot workspace with assembly, completion and flight-line hangar areas.
A large professional staff is dedicated to the procurement of parts, components, and systems from U.S. and Canadian suppliers. Sources selection, contract administration, in-transit warehousing, and import/export management are all handled under one roof at the Philadelphia facility. A 15,000 square foot warehouse serves as the consolidation point for over $100 million worth of goods annually exported to Italy in support of Agusta production lines.

| Job Desc: |
- Perform structural analysis and qualification with the FAA for the AW609
- Interact with major subcontractor to assume duties of USA expert in airframe stress analysis
- Maintain structural integrity capability for AgustaWestland to facilitate design performance verification using the same processes and data as AgustaWestland in Europe

| Requirements: |
- BS degree in Aerospace Engineering
- 5 years of Aircraft Stress experience some of which on rotorcraft
- Experience with CATIA v.4 required, CATIA v.5 preferred
- Strong understanding of aviation technology
- Knowledge and experience in the design, development and qualification of airframes
- Expert knowledge of airframe static stress analysis techniques including hand calculation methods (including the use of Mathcad), finite element techniques (especially Nastran and Patran), derivation of material and component allowables (including the sue of statistical techniques)
- Detailed knowledge of the overall static structural substantiation process from definition of external loads through airframe finite element analysis to final check stress clearance
- Detailed knowledge of the overall fatigue substantiation process from the derivation of component mean and working strengths, flight data gathering of fatigue loads, through fatigue life calculation methods to in-service aircraft monitoring
- Detailed knowledge of the relevant airworthiness requirements relating to aircraft/rotorcraft structures
- Ability to carry out technical tasks, ensuring the requirements are understood and the necessary activities are defined and undertaken to give the correct output
- Must be US citizen or Permanent Resident
