ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• It is required that the individual have an understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals and system administration. • Responsible for rapid removal and replacement of equipment and in-depth troubleshooting to maintain mission effectiveness. • Strong background in system level maintenance of networks and communications systems. • Installation, testing, monitoring, documenting, and repairing of LAN mediums including but not limited to UTP, multimode fiber, and 802. 11 wireless. •Provide user and computer technician support on LAN/WAN/VLAN communication issues. • Assist with the configuration and installation of new network equipment such as routers and switches. • Works with various levels of the system from the board and component level, to the LRU, to the system level to identify and resolve performance problems. • Performs preventative maintenance on a variety of computer related equipment. Includes troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of applicable mission systems using standard documentation packages including; assembly drawings and schematics. • Supports training initiatives for logistics specific training, as required. • Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hours.
