| Job Desc: |
The Records System Administrator makes information available, accessible and secure. By working with specialized or custom software tools, the electronic records manager creates standards and guidelines for how records should be handled adhering to industry regulations, legal and company / customer requirements. The Records System Administrator leads and monitors the organization as it transitions from primarily text-based documents to images and other media of interest to the corporation. This position will integrate records with other portals, systems and repositories, and maximizes the use of electronic records within and organization, company or industry.
Responsibilities
- Establish and enforce policies and procedures for the creation, sharing, storage and retention of electronic records
- Identify third-party products and services that can assist records management and make recommendations to management
- Bring records-keeping into compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Create economies of scale within content management systems, Web sites, extranets and other areas where records are managed
- Analyze, design, set up, test, document and implement folder structures, taxonomy and categories/attributes for use in storing and managing electronic documents
- Provide technical support to migrate data and documents (and create associated metadata) from shared drives or other document management platforms
- Provide individual and group training around electronic records management to departments as required

| Requirements: |
Desired qualifications
- Post-secondary education in library sciences with a strong technical aptitude
- Experience with Filehold, Intralinks, Watchdox, or other secure file interchange platforms
- Deep understanding of content management systems, intranets, Web portals and other electronic information sharing systems
- Direct experience working with various forms of storage media, including paper, digitally scanned images, disk, CD-ROM, etc.
