Position Summary / Job Description:
Oversee shop operations for a Cirrus Authorized Service Center, Hawker Beech Service Center, Mooney Service Center and work with base tenants to ensure aircraft are properly maintained and documented. This is a working position. You will be expected to perform 100hr/Annual inspections on piston aircraft, aircraft engines, landing gear, instruments, pressurize sections, accessories – brakes, valves, pumps and air-conditioning systems. Repair, troubleshoot and maintain airframe and engine components. Maintain records related to the maintenance performed on the aircraft. Mechanics conduct inspections following a schedule based on the number of hours the aircraft has flown, calendar days since the last inspection, cycles of operation, or a combination of these factors. They repair or replace worn or defective parts. Mechanics may also repair sheet metal or composite surfaces. Mechanics rely on the pilot’s description of a problem to find and fix faulty equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform, oversee and record various inspections and repairs in a timely manner without supervision
- Perform all airframe, power plant and propeller repairs and modifications required to meet company and FAA requirements.
- Perform tasks within budgeted labor hours.
- Removal and disassembly of defective parts; assembly and installation of replacement part; and testing aircraft systems.
- Properly identify (tag), organize and store aircraft components and customer property and equipment.
- Operates all power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignment.
- Follow safe work practices when operating tools and equipment such as lathes power carts, mules, tugs, forklifts, compressed gas cylinders, etc…
- Completes all required maintenance records.
- Accurately records time and work on a computer based system
- Provide training to other employees, document OJT and maintain training records.
- Use digital maintenance libraries
- Presents a clean and neat work area to our customers.
- Interprets technical manuals, drawings and blueprints.
- Performs other aircraft maintenance work as may be required.
- Performs varied additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of English language.
- General knowledge of the combined federal regulations
- Ability to perform basic communications
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to read and understand blue prints
- Ability to read and understand aircraft wiring diagrams
- Ability to legally operate a motorized vehicle
- Tows and parks aircraft.

| Requirements: |
Minimum Qualifications:
- FAA Airframe and Power Plant License
- Inspection Authorization
- Five (5) years of work related experience on Cirrus, Baron and Bonanza Models
- Proficiency on both single and multi-engine piston aircraft.
- Basic Computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Use of email – Outlook preferred
Physical Requirements:
- A/P Mechanics often stand, lie, or kneel in awkward positions and occasionally must work in precarious positions, such as on scaffolds or ladders
- Frequently lift or pull objects weighing more than 70 pounds
- Use miscellaneous shop equipment such as bending brakes, shears, lathe, etc..
- Handle raw materials such as sheet metal and composite fabrics
- Handle various chemicals using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment
Working Conditions:
Mechanics usually work in hangars or in other indoor areas. When hangars are full or when repairs must be made quickly, they can work outdoors, sometimes in unpleasant weather. Mechanics often work under time pressure to maintain flight schedules or, in general aviation, to keep from inconveniencing customers. At the same time, mechanics have a tremendous responsibility to maintain safety standards, and this can cause the job to be stressful. Noise and vibration are common when engines are being tested, so ear protection is necessary. Aircraft mechanics usually work 40 hours a week on 8-shifts around the clock. Overtime work is frequent.
