Quality Assurance Inspector
The Quality Assurance Inspector is a member of the program team with emphasis on the quality requirements derived from the contract, specifications, drawings, and unique program requirements. The primary job of a program QAI is to ensure the efficient implementation of the Quality processes as they pertain to programs.
The primary job of a QAI outside of direct program responsibilities is to efficiently collect metrics, analyze trends and evaluate processes for continual improvements. Additionally, the QAI is responsible for resolving quality issues that impact program cost and schedule.
Ensures that performance and quality of personnel and products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with CLS personnel, engineering, customer, vendors and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications.
Other responsibilities include Interfacing with Government Quality Representatives concerning program quality issues, participating as a team member in resolving Corrective Action Requests, interfacing with vendors regarding quality issues, and maintaining data collection of quality related program data. The QAI performs in-process inspections/audits and witnesses in-process and acceptance testing when required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Perform assigned inspection functions in accordance with SNC and manufacturer’s inspection procedures to ensure that aircraft systems are maintained to the prescribed standards of airworthiness and serviceability for all scheduled operations Review log books and deferred maintenance items on appropriate work documents Perform required inspection functions during all checks on routine work documents; sign off log book, deferred maintenance items upon completion of work Ensure that all inspections are performed as required of all scheduled maintenance, aircraft modifications or component changes to ensure that approved equipment and materials are being utilized and high standards of workmanship are being attained Record all discrepancies found on non-routine work cards or as otherwise specified in various sections of the aircraft maintenance manual Submit recommendations for the elimination of recurrent system deficiencies determined during inspection procedures and the elimination of unnecessary maintenance procedures as determined by practical experiences Monitor all inspections record forms which are utilized in checks to ensure proper completion of all entries Evaluate current processes, procedures, and instructions for efficiency and streamlining
Coordinate with Government Quality Representatives on program quality issues including inspection schedules Coordinate with vendors on program quality issues Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hours, and work all shifts Other duties as assigned
