- Position Summary:
The Flight Sciences Lead is responsible for all aspects of analytical substantiation for Large Interior Completion STC projects for Transport Category Aircraft and smaller modifications for Executive Aircraft undergoing Maintenance Operations under our Part 145 delegation. The Lead will be responsible for subordinate Analysts and managing all related outsourcing of analysis, testing services, deliverables, and schedules. Lead will participate in development of organizational standards, methods and processes. - Generates, coordinates and reviews structural substantiation reports and associated analyses in support of Interior Modification STCs for Large Transport category Aircraft (14 CFR Part 25).
- Reviews and coordinates departmental review of engineering drawings.
- Develops and supports compliance requirements for certification projects.
- Develops Weight and Balance estimates and coordinates updates and objective tracking throughout the projects.
- Supports creation of decompression analysis layouts and coordinates implementation of results of analysis developments.
- Supports analysis and structural substantiation needs related to the Maintenance business enterprise for 14 CFR Part 25 executive aircraft under our Part 145 delegation.
- Works with the Certification organization in support of STC project structural certification objectives.
- Interfaces with structural, mechanical systems, interior, avionics and electrical design engineers to ensure certifiable designs for all structural aspects and generates the associated substantiating analysis and/or testing required.
- Leads subordinate analysts and develops analysis, methods and report engineering standards.
Supervision Received: - Plans and carries out work assignments; resolves most conflicts which arise; coordinates work with others as necessary; interprets policy on own initiative in terms of established objectives. Keeps Manager informed of progress, potentially controversial matters, or far-reaching implications
Supervisory Duties: - Trains, assigns work to, and checks work of two (2) or more Teammembers; participates in the decision to hire, terminate, and promote Team members; does not conduct the same work as Teammembers on a regular basis but is fully capable

| Requirements: |
- B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering required, or equivalent amount of directly related experience
- Minimum of ten (10) years experience in the aircraft industry working with transport category aircraft and the associated Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification of all associated aircraft installation designs, including but not limited to Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) work, structural substantiation analysis and report development, test plans and test report authoring and review.
- Minimum five (5) years of aircraft completions modification experience required, including but not limited to aircraft modification designs under 14 CFR Part 25 STC projects.
- Valid Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
- Regular attendance is required
- Must have a positive attitude
- Must be well groomed and maintain a professional appearance
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country in which the position is located
- Must Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a record that meets our company’s insurance standards
- Must pass 10 year background check and drug test
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) governing aircraft certification
- Strong understanding of aircraft structural installations and governing regulations
- Strong command of classical hand-analysis techniques
- Strong knowledge and experience in airframe structural analysis
- Proficient with the following software:
- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
- MathCAD
- NASTRAN/FEMAP(basic user skill, proficiency a plus)
- AutoCAD (basic user skill, proficiency a plus)
- Strong knowledge of Finite Element Modeling and Analysis techniques.
- Ability to interpret design drawings of various aircraft modifications and identify design changes required to ensure that sound load paths and structural integrity are maintained.
- Must have the ability to interact with a wide range of customer groups, both internal and external
- Must be able to communicate technical issues in an assertive and tactful manner
- Ability to generate thorough, detailed, yet concise structural analysis reports.
- Must possess excellent oral and written skills, as well as strong analytical abilities.
- Results oriented.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize workload.
