Mission: The U.S. State Department‘s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) carries out U.S. foreign assistance programs for the control of international narcotics. This assistance is designed to help foreign governments improve their ability to develop and implement national strategies and programs to prevent the production, trafficking, and abuse of illicit drugs.
INL supports governments worldwide in their efforts to locate and eradicate drug crops, interdict drug production and trafficking activities, and develop their own institutional counter-narcotics aviation programs.
INL Support Program: DynCorp International (DI) is currently contracted to provide the U.S. State Department‘s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs with critical depot maintenance, logistics support, search-and-rescue, security, and administrative support for down-range drug eradication operations in Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Guatemala, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. |

Please apply at: http://www.dyncorprecruiting.com/ext/detail.asp?dyn2009-140 Purpose of Classification: Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, services, repairs, and overhauls aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure airworthiness. Reads and interprets manufacturer and maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing oil systems, cleaning screens, lubricating moving parts, and checking systems. Performs major aircraft structural repairs. Principle Responsibilities: A. Supervises and Trains Host Nation personnel in the following: 1. Daily Preventative maintenance practices 2. Applicable safety procedures and precautions on the flight line and in hangar areas. 3. Hot and cold refueling procedures and safety guidelines. 4. Knows type and designations of fuel and lubricants used in the servicing of applicable aircraft and power plants. 5. Applicable emergency ground procedures for assigned aircraft. 6. Applicable color code charts for piping and lines. 7. How to removes and install aircraft power plants, components and parts as required. 8. How to recognizes corrosion and assists in or performs corrective treatment and/or preventive maintenance. 9. Basic use of technical publications. 10. Knowledge the cockpit, controls, pyrotechnics, safety devices, and normal switch positions. 11. Applicable maintenance data collection forms completion as required. 12. Use of precision measuring equipment required in the performance of assigned duties. 13. Reading and understanding applicable diagrams, sketches and drawings. 14. Performance of oil analysis sampling IAW applicable instructions. 15. Familiarization of assigned firefighting equipment. 16. Knowledge of weight and balance limitations for applicable aircraft. 17. Knowledge of applicable material control procedures. 18. Incorporates airframe changes/ bulletins when required 19. Provides training to other mechanics, as required. 20. Performs major aircraft structural repairs. 21. Locates cracks, breaks, holes, and dents in aircraft sheet-metal structures and determines appropriate repairs from technical data to restore components to original strength. 22. Forms stringers, bulkheads and ribs. 23. Reinforces damaged or weakened skin on structural members. Reads and interprets blueprints and determines dimensions, angles, and contours in performance of structural repair B. Able to perform the above duties in absence of host nation personnel. C. Experience Required: Minimum of seven years on rotary wing aircraft. Must have worked fulltime in aviation maintenance for the past 12 months with emphasis on Rotor wing airframe. Five (5) years aircraft structural repair experience and/or the completion of specialized courses in aircraft structural repair. Possesses a thorough knowledge of maintenance procedures for fixed/rotary wing single and multiengine aircraft, familiar with FAA, FARs and technical manuals governing aircraft maintenance procedures.Special Knowledge/ Skills Required:A. Certificate of graduation from a military school or civilian electronics/avionics school is desired.B. Thorough knowledge of turbine systems to systems operation, limitations, technical orders and Federal Aviation Regulations.C. Completion of formal maintenance training on assigned aircraft is desired. D. Fluent in Spanish language is desired.E. Occasional travel and continued education/training may be required.F. Ability to read, write and interpret technical duties is required.G. Must be able to read, write, comprehend, and interpret technical documents, including manuals, technical data, and blueprints.H. Must provide own hand tools to perform maintenance on aircraft.I. Must have a FAA, A&P Mechanic License. Certificate of completion of military or civilian turbine training. Work Environment: Be able to travel to and between remote location(s). Travel to austere or inhospitable high stress environments may be required. Ability to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure may be required. May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts.Physical Demands:A. Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for up to six hours per day and sit for up to two hours per day.B. Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders and work stands.C. Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.D. May be required to carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds.E. May be required to lift up to 35 pounds to height of four feet and be required to lift up to 35 pounds to height of 7 feet.F. May be required to read aircraft dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.G. Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.H. Must be able to read and interpret newspaper and typewritten print.I. Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sounds. J. Must be able to distinguish color and judge three dimensional depths.K. May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, APU, etc.L. Must have minimum 20/100 near and far vision, correctable to 20/20. |
