Job Description
Serve as an FAA Systems & Equipment Electrical Designated Engineering Representative (DER) and American Eurocopter (AE) Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) Unit Member finding compliance on behalf of the FAA for electrical and avionics installations on Normal Category Rotorcraft [14 CFR Part 27], and Transport Category Rotorcraft [14 CFR Part 29] under the supervision of the Director of Certification.
Serve as an FAA subject matter expert in support Engineering design activities.
Responsibilities
Review data and find compliance with the Electrical and Avionics regulatory requirements of Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Parts 27 and 29.
Maintain FAA delegation(s) required to make these findings on behalf of AE.
Provide Certification expertise to the Design Engineering and other areas within AE on FAA compliance requirements.
This position description is not intended to be all-inclusive and employee will also perform other tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements
Minimum of ten years related experience and at least five years working experience with the FAA on Certification projects.
Requires a thorough working knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 21, 27 and 29 requirements.
Requires strong thinking and analytical skills.
Essential Functions Requires the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form with internal and external customers.
Able to read and interpret various types of technical documentation and data.
Ability to use PC computers and associated hardware and software.
Must be an FAA Systems & Equipment Electrical DER in good standing with the delegations noted below.
Must have DER special delegation for Repairs and Alterations (Area P) in accordance with FAA Order 8110.37.
Must become approved as an ODA Structural Unit Member and Company DER by the FAA.
Required delegations from FAA Order 8110.37 Chart C2 14 CFR Part 27 and 29: A1, A2, A4, A5, A6, A7; B1, B2, B4, B5, B6, B7; C1, C2, C4, C5, C6, C7; D1, D2, D4, D5, D6, D7; E1, E2, E4, E5, E6, E7; F1, F2, F4, F5, F6, F7; G1, G2, G4, G5, G6, G7; H1, H2, H4, H5, H6, H7; I1, I2, I4, I5, I6; J1, J2, J4, J5, J6; K1, K2, K4, K5, K6; P Repairs & Alterations |
