Business Development Manager is a highly motivated sales professional with a proven track record of success on Federal Government proposals. This position is responsible for focusing on identifying new business opportunities, formulating the capture strategy and leading the proposal effort for major bid pursuits.
Essential duties include the following: Directing efforts to support the business development process to capture new business as well as current business add-on/annual purchases. Developing leads and identifies new business, conduct competitive analyses, develop “win” strategies, prepare capture plans and provide leadership during the bid/no-bid process. Developing opportunities with the US Government Department of Defense. Develop and implement strategies to engage the customer, as well as coordinating the necessary participation of the rest of the organization. Identify strategic partners and subcontractors. Prepare internal and external business development related reports such as, monthly activity reports, contact reports and business forecasting. Provides additional marketing support/participation as requested such as for trade shows, marketing collateral development and proposal support. Possesses a very high level of accuracy and detail. Develops and presents power point presentations for both external and internal purposes. Any other projects or assignments as required.

| Requirements: |
10 or more years of proven and successful experience in business development within the US Department of Defense contracting environment as it relates to FAR 12 and FAR 15 type acquisitions. Previous experience negotiating FAR 12 and FAR 15 type acquisitions. Bachelors degree in a technical field or Business Administration. Solid business development and solution selling expertise along with strong technical/engineering knowledge. Proven experience opening up new markets and/or inserting new products into existing markets. Demonstrated ability to ensure winning proposals are delivered on time. The candidate should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and proficiency in his/her communication skills, both orally and in writing. Must be able to travel 50% to 75% of the time as required with little notice. Proven ability to provide excellent service to internal and external customers. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Must understand the US DOD procurement process and its impact to the business development effort. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. The ideal candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: Masters degree in Business Administration or Technical related field is a plus. The ideal candidate will be reliable, dependable, and adaptable to change and have the ability to multi-task within a fast paced working environment while remaining focused on securing business. Previous experience working with the US Air Force is preferred. Aerospace/Military background a plus. Previous experience with Oracle is helpful. Language Skills: The individual must have the ability to read, write, and understand spoken English; and the ability to read and understand proposals, contracts, instructions, and engineering terms. The individual must have good communication skills and the ability to interface directly with other functions within the company.
Other Qualifications: The individual will be required to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance. US Citizenship Required.
