Rotary Wing Chief Pilot Full-time, Exempt Job Location: Moyock, NC
Job Description Summary
The Rotary Wing Chief Pilot is responsible for ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and Company policies and procedures pertaining to all aspects of flight operations and pilot training. Monitors flight instruction, to include standardization of transitions, annual proficiency reviews, and flight evaluations. Assists key managers in providing oversight, initiating, conducting training or/and supervising within his/her respective area of responsibility to meet the contract objectives of host nation and contractor training; also, responsible for host nation counterpart training if required, to include but not limited to:
Establish and maintain the approved company ground and flight training programs for crewmembers, check airmen, instructors and operations personnel associated with the company FAR 135 operations.
Assure that aircraft and equipment are available for training and directs all training and testing activities of flight crewmembers. Will also direct the training and testing of company operations personnel.
Assist the Director of Operations in formulating operations policies, and coordinates the enforcement of those policies.
Advise the Director of Operations on the status of available flight crewmembers and is responsible for crewmember standardization.
Prepare and maintains pilot training and proficiency records, flight schedule reports and all other documents pertaining to his/her duties and responsibilities.
Disseminate information to all crewmembers.
Submit required operating reports to the Director of Operations.
Ensure that all company pilots conform to standard procedures as outlined in applicable FAR‘s and the General Operations Manual. Insures that all pilots maintain current route qualification and receive proficiency checks as required by applicable FAR‘s.
Delegate functions to other personnel, but retains responsibility.
Maintain in a permanent file copy of each Aircraft Flight Log, Load Manifest and Discrepancy Record form for a period of not less than 1 year for the date it is made.
Assure crewmember flight and duty records are placed in each Pilots permanent file on the first day of each month for the preceding calendar month. Maintain current aircraft checklists. Assure that all pilots utilize the Aircraft Flight Log, Load Manifest and Discrepancy record form. Demonstrate knowledge of all the General Operations Manual, FAA Regulations, NTSB Procedures, HMR 175, Operations Specifications, Aircraft Flight Manuals and all other material pertinent to job duties. The Chief Pilot may exercise operational control over all flights. May initiate, conduct or terminate a flight for the company. Perform other duties as assigned or required.

| Requirements: |
Required Education/Experience Must have at least three (3) years experience within the past 6 years, as a FAR part 135 pilot in command of an aircraft. 3,000+ total rotary-wing aircraft flight hours, 500+ SP/300+ IP hours turbine instructor pilot or check pilot in a civilian or military organization. At least 3 years managing training programs in a formal civilian or military flight training activity required. In-depth knowledge of all the General Operations Manual, FAA Regulations, NTSB Procedures, HMR 175, Operations Specifications, Aircraft Flight Manuals and all other material pertinent to RW Chief Pilot position. Take and pass the appropriate FAA oral, written and flight test to qualify for the position of Chief Pilot, Company Instructor and Company Check Airman, if the company and the FAA find the position of a check airman necessary. No accidents, incidents or FAA sanctions within last five years (none preferred). Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance. International Flight Operations experience preferred.Licenses/Certifications FAA Commercial and Instrument Airman‘s Certificates - Rotorcraft Helicopter required.
