| Job Desc: |
RESPONSIBILITIES: Individual must be able to operate Spindle Polishing equipment used in the polishing of Plano and Spherical optics. Responsible for reading specifications in work order. Measures tolerances on job during production, upon completion, and before passing work to next operation. Must be able to read and interpret prints. Needs a strong ability for attention to detail. Will be required to make critical measurements (.001mm). Must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions. Follow safety guidelines.

REQUIREMENTS:Two or more years experience Optical Fabrication and Polishing of Plano and Spherical Optics. General knowledge of Optical Metrology equipment: ZYGO and Phase Shift Interferometers, ZYGO White Light Interferometers. Familiarity with Saga 75 and Saga 100 Spindle Polishers. Familiarity with Blanchard, DMG, Haas, DCM, Hurco, Opti-Pro, Opti-Tech‘s, and Bridgeport Optical machine equipment is plus. Familiarity with Optotech Generators and High Speed Polishers. Optical Spindle Polishing Experience a plus. Experience with ISO9001 and ISO 14000 requirements. Familiar with Lean Manufacturing. Able to use measuring tools: calipers, dial indicators, height gages, optical collimators and optical comparators. General computer skills - i.e. MS Office, SAP ? Safe handling of hazardous materials such as solvents and including hazardous waste and materials containing lead. SPC experience a plus.EDUCATION:High school diploma or GED ? Machinist certificate |
