Supervisor, Supporting Workshops

The Supervisor, Supporting Workshops supervises and manages production activities and people for the NDT/Cleaning, Plasma Coating, Machine, Paint, Welding shops, and Tool Crib. This position is responsible for resource and capacity planning for the workshops and for ensuring that all financial and operational goals are met.

Responsibilities:
Supervise technicians in the Supporting Workshops
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with the specifications of OEM specifications, industry standards, engineering repair orders and company policies and procedures
Ensure Support Workshops repair and overhaul tasks are delivered in accordance with agreed delivery schedules.
Ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded.
Deliver Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives (Active Management, 6S etc).
Maintain approved Quality Standards within Support Workshops.
Maintain approved Health and Safety/Environmental standards within Support Shops. .
Manage Support Workshops within financial guidelines and agreed budgets, and ensure assigned repair and overhaul tasks are delivered in accordance within budgeted resources and materials.
Communicate with internal stakeholders to integrate requirements and ensure optimization of workshops capacity and meeting of customer requirements.
Prepare job estimates for internal and external work.
Build employee satisfaction by making the workplace environment a positive place to work
Provide leadership; evaluate employee performance using the company performance evaluation guidelines; establish goals and training/development plans, , provide input to pay/reward decisions, provide performance feedback and initiate discipline processes as appropriate
Participate in interviews and selection decisions for the hiring of new team members.
Support and reflect the business objectives of the organization
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Qualifications & Experience: Formal recognized aviation training, with at least 10 years experience in the repair and overhaul of aircraft components Demonstrated experience of resource and capacity planning within a production environment. Ability to multi-task and manage a heavy workload Results orientated Strong communication skills and proven problem solving/analytical skills Good understanding of budgeting and financial management Knowledge of and experience in estimating maintenance programs and engineering modifications Able to use multiple data bases to review/create work packages and prepare schedules and reports Demonstrated team player with excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to lead and manage in a rapidly evolving and dynamic environment Experience in successfully managing in a workshop environment, with a proven track record Computer skills in maintenance software systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Project Ability to work flexible hours as required by business Please apply ONLINE at www.heli-one.ca to be considered for this position.
