1. KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION
Knowledge of procedures involved with the inspection, removal, disassembly, testing servicing, troubleshooting, modification, repair/overhaul and replacement of aircraft propellers, components and related systems is mandatory. Must be able to troubleshoot propeller systems, diagnose malfunctions, teardown and build-up propeller, and replace any component required unassisted. Completion of a 54H60-117 Propeller Technical School is desirable. Must have working knowledge of aircraft maintenance forms, records and reports to meet the job standards prescribed by the RSAF. Must be able to speak, read, comprehend and write English clearly and distinctly. Completion of high school or equivalent is mandatory. Must be qualified and capable of providing necessary job training to the Customer.
2. EXPERIENCE
Minimum of five (5) years experience on the 54H60-117 propeller is mandatory. Three (3) years experience on the C-130 aircraft is highly desirable.
3. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Reports to the Propeller Shop Chief as a Propeller Technician. b. Performs all turbopropeller maintenance to specified C-130 standards. c. Removes and replaces propellers on the C-130 aircraft and performs required repairs and functional tests. d. Performs propeller teardown and build-up, to include removal and installation of associated components. e. Operates propeller and engine controls during engine run-ups to determine propeller serviceability. f. Performs all adjustments, alignments, rigging and calibration of engine torques and related propeller components to achieve maximum operating efficiency. g. Performs periodic inspections to determine and maintain propeller serviceability.
h. Responsible for conducting Customer training, to include OJT, and maintenance of training records for the Propeller Shop.
i. Performs other related duties as directed.
