This position manages assigned projects from preparation of estimates/offers, through planning and design phase, into production, delivery and invoicing. Responsible for managing the project and resources to meet span time commitments, quality expectations, cost budgets and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities: Lead the estimating process for new opportunities Work with sales to support customers for agreement of the Statement of Work Works with the Planner and the Department Managers to develop the project plan, resource requirements and allocation and milestone charts Conduct pre-check meeting with assigned staff and support personnel prior to induction of the aircraft Ensure execution of the schedule, including design, parts supply and production. Monitor and direct activities of planning, purchasing and crew chiefs assigned to projects Meet the budget, as agreed with the customer Ensure workplace safety and workmanship quality on the project Work with Director and Department Managers to resolve resource conflicts Identify key issues that may impact project cost or schedule and escalates for resolution when beyond the control of the Business Unit Provide regular customer updates on project progress; hosts customers during visits and ensure acceptance crew and air crew are looked after during test period. Provide regular management updates on project progress: schedule, man-hours, and cost For sub-contracted work, negotiate subcontractor agreements and conduct daily project status via teleconference or on-site; ensures resources are available to support the contractor (design, planning and materiel) Conduct post-check meetings to evaluate project performance, provide recognition and identify improvement areas Identify continuous improvement opportunities and contribute to the development of improved business processes Manage SQID reports related to projects; conduct Corrective and Preventive Action Analysis, establish root causes and develop corrective measures to deal with customer feedback, acceptance and audit findings International travel may be required May perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience: Required: A University Degree or equivalent education, training and experience A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience Experience in successful leading and managing in a manufacturing environment, with a proven track record Experience or training in Project Management techniques and processes Ability to think strategically and at the same time be a hands-on manager Self motivated and results oriented Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication and presentation skills Excellent collaborative problem solving skills with an ability to envision a system wide solution Ability to lead in a rapidly evolving and dynamic environment Demonstrated team player with excellent interpersonal skills Desired: Base Maintenance management experience within a global environment.
