Chief Operating Officer
Heli-One, a division of CHC, has an opportunity for a bright and energetic leader that is looking for a challenging working environment and a fun and dynamic team atmosphere. All you have to do is get on board.
The Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for optimization of global day to day operations and engineering within Heli-One. Major responsibilities include establishing and implementing operating procedures that align with Heli-one’s long term and annual business objectives, and monitoring and evaluating operating results. This position is also accountable for assessing and integrating new business units into the existing portfolio. The COO is also responsible for the bottom line productivity of each business unit while managing the entire global footprint to deliver established financial goals. This position leads and manages the Heli-One business unit heads responsible for operations and engineering.
Responsibilities: Play a key role in CHC’s ability to set the standard for safety, helping to maintain our position as world leader. Drive the operations globally to achieve and surpass business and financial goals and objectives Maximize global footprint to ensure highest margins, lowest costs, and resource optimization Manage the business units to ensure that the internal processes support operating statement results and the balance sheet requirements of the business Establish key performance indicators (KPI’s) that effectively predict the financial performance of the business units and also indicate where efficiencies can be realized. Drive improvement thru KPI measures Collaborate with other Heli-One Leadership team members to ensure overall strategic objectives are achieved Build, develop, and manage a high performance operations leadership team capable of executing needed strategies, delivering performance expectations and improving employee relations Lead the operational Business Units in strategic and short-range planning cycles (5 year plan, budgeting, forecasting, etc.). Oversee and optimize annual budget for all operations globally Establish operations initiatives for improvement in cost, delivery, and quality (including TAT, margins, return on capital employed, utilization, on time delivery, scrap, etc.). Drive standardization and waste reduction through the organization Ensure that all business processes and systems in operations and engineering are lean, effective, and efficient and driving towards optimization Lead the product development process, from design through product launch and first customer deliveries Recommend and implement changes in operations strategy globally Provide on-going feedback and communication across the operations Provide timely, accurate and complete reporting on all operations Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations as required (health, safety, environmental, security, etc.) and that all employees are operating in a safe manner and producing quality products. Maintain positive employee relations at all locations Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the operations Interface with the Flying Divisions to help improve their performance International travel will be required. May perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent15+ years relevant experience in operations management within a global environment, preferably within an aviation related fieldDemonstrated delivery of exceptional and measurable resultsStrong business acumen – Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or advanced technical degree preferredStrong financial literacy and ability to understand the drivers of profitability, cash flow, and sustainable growthStrong technical skills including Lean, Kaizen, and Process Improvement are preferredDemonstrated ability to lead people and achieve results through othersAbility to organize and manage multiple prioritiesAbility to analyze and resolve problems at both a strategic and functional levelExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsTeam player who exercises good judgement with a high level of integrityPreferred candidate will have had experience in the implementation of an MRP system ideally within an MRO environmentSuccessful integration of acquisitions Please apply ONLINE at www.heli-one.ca to be considered for this position.
