Position Description:
Performs periodic and special inspections of all aircraft hydraulic systems for proper operation and conformity to standards. Assists with inspection and repair of ground equipment hydraulic systems as required. Removes and replaces all aircraft hydraulic components and verifies correct system operation. Performs repair/overhaul of all removed hydraulic components within local capabilities. Responsible for conducting Customer training, to include OJT, and maintenance of training records for the Hydraulic Shop. Performs other related duties as directed.
Competencies:
- Knowledge of electrical, pneudraulic and mechanical principles that apply to aircraft, in-flight refueling and associated equipment is preferred.
- Must be able to troubleshoot hydraulic systems, diagnose malfunctions, repair/overhaul system components and perform necessary component replacement unassisted.
- Completion of basic aircraft pneudraulics system maintenance course is preferred.
- Must have working knowledge of aircraft maintenance forms, records and reports to meet the job standards prescribed by the RSAF. Must be able to speak, read, comprehend and write English clearly and distinctly.
- Must be qualified and capable of providing necessary job training to the Customer.
Typical Education / Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in the Aircraft Pneudraulic systems maintenance career field is preferred.
- At least three (3) years of this experience must be on C-130E/H series and/or KC-130 aircraft.
- Must have experience in functions such as installation, modification or repair of aircraft and associated ground equipment, and associated hydraulic and electrical systems.
