Position Description:

Advises the Flying Wing Commander on matters of tactical airlift operation. Advises RSAF commanders and staff on operations and training associated with the tactical airlift mission, primarily, and the logistics mission secondarily. Advises RSAF commanders and staff on operations and training associated with the C-130 aircraft systems and procedures. Advises RSAF commanders and staff in the development of RSAF operational and training policies, programs and publications. Performs aircrew duties as a C-130 instructor navigator in accordance with RSAF regulations and directives. Performs duties as a classroom, simulator, or flight instructor for training associated with basic C-130 operations and the tactical airlift mission. Advises RSAF commanders in the development and administration of instructional programs, examinations, manuals, regulations, plans, course syllabi and other pertinent materials associated with basic C-130 operations and the tactical airlift mission. Advises RSAF commanders on the effectiveness of aircrew training programs and procedures associated with basic C-130 operations and the tactical airlift mission. Advises RSAF commanders on RSAF aircrew compliance with safety and flying regulations. Performs other tasks as requested and as deemed appropriate by USMTM.

Competencies:

• Graduation from the following courses is mandatory: Military Undergraduate Navigator Training course, C-130 Navigator, Initial Qualification course, C-130 Navigator, Tactical Mission Qualification course, Aircrew Instructor Training course. Graduation from the Advanced Airlift Tactics Training course is desired.
• Must possess instructor-level knowledge in: the operations of C-130 aircraft navigation systems and the performance of aircrew duties and procedures AND C-130 tactical airland and airdrop operations.
• Must be familiar with: USAF flight publications, manuals, directives and regulations; the use of computer-based word processing and training programs; USAF Training practices and techniques.
• Must have proficient skills in staff-level writing and correspondence. Knowledge and experience in Current Operations, mobility, deployment and other base or wing-level planning functions are desired.

Typical Education/Experience:

• Must have a minimum of 2000 hours of flying time as a navigator. 1000 of which must be in various models of the C-130 aircraft.
• 500 hours of experience as an instructor navigator.
• Must have had practical experience within the past three years in: the operation of a C-130 aircraft and tactical airlift operations.
• Aircrew qualification as a C-130 Evaluator Navigator is desired
