Operations Manager Full-time, Exempt Job Location: Moyock, NC
Job Description Summary The Operations Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the aviation operations for the organization with duties to include, but not limited to:
• Coordinate and plan all flight missions. • Contribute to the preparation of proposals on short-term contracts. • Maintain strong relationships with key customers and vendors. • Create flight schedules and maintain flight logs. • Monitor crew schedules to ensure assignments for schedules are in accordance with personnel qualifications for type of aircraft, federal safety and operational regulations, and company policy. • Track and maintain flight/hour program. • Confer with flight crew personnel to resolve any differences regarding schedule assignments. • Track fuel usage and verify billing. • Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules. • Provide billing hours to bookkeeper for verification purposes. • Ensure proper tracking of pilot annual requirements (e.g. medical certification, qualifications). • Manage corporate housing and leasing of company vehicles. • Update data cards for radio/navigations systems monthly. • Update and maintain General Operations Manual. • Update required aeronautical charts and maps. • Coordinate aircraft maintenance with mission requirements. • Coordinate activities of sections in flight operations department, for example dispatching, flight control, flight training and meteorology, to ensure maximum operating efficiency. • Confers with administrative personnel, government regulatory agencies to propose revision and adoption of rules and procedures governing flight operation activities. • Direct preparation of supplemental training materials or revision of operational manuals resulting from changes in rules and procedures. • Perform travel inside and outside the continental United States as needed. • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Required Education/Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Aviation Business Administration, or related discipline is preferred. • Minimum five (5) years work experience in FAR Part 135 or 121 or military aviation required. • Previous experience working in Operations required. • Experienced license dispatcher preferred • Must be able to travel at least 25% of the time (20% inside and 5% outside of the continental United States).Licenses/Certifications• Current FAA issued Pilot and/or Instructor Pilot certificate or dispatcher certificate preferred.
