| Job Desc: |
Aerospace Manufacturing Facility in the Los Angeles area is looking for a VP of Quality to oversee three facilities and a Director of Quality to assist VP with San Fernando Facility.
VP will be stations at one facility, but will need to travel between all three locations. Director with be located at the San Fernando Facility and assit VP with job functions.
The company is a major supplier to several Aerospace companies which include Boeing. A background in Boeing parts is highliy reccomended.
Major Purpose of Positions:
Establishes the Strategic Business Plan as it relates to the overall direction of the Company’s Quality Engineering, Inspection, Calibration and Quality Records and Document Control departments. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the aforementioned departments ensuring the goals and objectives set in the Strategic Business Plan are met. Ensure that the processes needed for the Quality Management System are established, implemented and maintained. Reviews and reports on the performance of the Quality Management System, inclusive of any need for improvement, to executive management. Promote awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.

Essential Job Functions: 1. Review Customer Contract and Purchase Order requirements and ensure the aforementioned departments can meet the requirements in the timeframe agreed upon by the Customer and the Company. Must convey quality requirements to those departments responsible for ensuring on-going compliance. Must ensure Company has the capability of verifying compliance with agreed upon requirements.2. Review departmental resources on a regular basis and ensure resources are available when needed to meet the agreed upon commitments to Customers and Company established goals and objectives.3. Establish and maintain a fiscal year budget for the aforementioned departments.4. Establish and maintain performance metrics, tied to established goals and objectives, to ensure trends are managed in a proactive manner.5. Establish regular review meetings with immediate staff addressing performance, equipment, product flow, budgets, etc.6. Establish and maintain departmental organizational charts and documented job descriptions for all employees working in the aforementioned departments.7. Implement established Quality Management System polices through documented procedures and work/form instructions for the aforementioned departments.8. Ensure all employees working in the aforementioned departments are properly trained and equipped to perform the job descriptions under which they are working. 9. Assist The Internal Quality Auditing function by addressing Corrective action requests in a positive and timely manner.10. Support the Strategic Development Department in establishing and maintaining Continuous Improvement initiatives.11. Participate in regularly scheduled executive management meetings.12. Perform other duties as required. Knowledge: Work is performed without appreciable direction. Determines organizational objectives, and interprets company policies. Additional Job Requirements: Organizing and Planning Must have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, organizing work effectively, forecast potential problems and put contingency plans in place to mitigate impact to the Company. Must have the necessary tools to disseminate information accurately to the organization in a timely manner. Must be consistently effective in putting plans into action and following up on work assignments ensuring completion in a timely manner, meeting quality, cost and schedule requirements. Communication Must have excellent communication skills both written and oral. WRITTEN: Must excel in the ability to communicate using all forms of communication. Must be capable of generating correspondence in the form of memos, letters and technical reports. ORAL: Must possess a strong ability to speak on technical and business issues on a routine basis conveying a positive image for the Company. Must be capable of assembling and presenting information to groups of Employees, Subcontractors and Customers. Must be able to clearly communicate with supervisors, peers and subordinates. Education/Experience B.S. degree (or equivalent experience) and 5-10 years of equivalent experience within a manufacturing environment in the aerospace industry in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Must have an understanding of aerospace technical issues as they relate to a machine shop and the ability to read and interpret technical information such as drawings and specifications. Must have working knowledge of the industry customer base and commercial and government specifications. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. and able to sit for long periods of time. Position requires some travel to other facilities. Safety Requirements Compliance with safety standards and policies will be graded as part of job performance.
