| Job Desc: |
The Sr. General Accountant maintains or oversees the maintenance of accounts and records in such areas such as disbursements, expenses, tax payments and income. Compiles and analyses financial information to prepare reports, make general ledger entries, and review/verify accuracy of journal entries. Prepares income and balance sheet statements, profit and loss statements, consolidated statements, and other accounting statements and reports. May design, modify, install, and/or maintain general accounting systems to provide records of assets, liabilities and financial transactions. Performs general accounting duties including, but not limited to, general ledger and cost accounting. Evaluates general ledger accounts for errors and omissions, and enters corrected data into the Vantage system. Performs all tasks associated with the general ledger (monthly journal entries, monthly closing journal entries, account reconciliation). Assists in reviewing and updating monthly closing procedures. Assists internal and external auditors. Maintains fixed asset records and control; determines depreciation terms/rates to apply to capitalized items; prepares property tax returns for review by the Accounting Manager. CPA, MBA and/or CIA a plus.
