Experienced Sheet Metal, Structural Helicopter Mechanics are needed to Repair, Refit and Maintain Fight Worthiness on Helicopters for our client in New Iberia, LA.

Sheet Metal, Structural Helicopter Mechanic Position Job Description:

• Document maintenance performed on required forms.
• Must be able to use all tech data and aircraft drawings to locate part numbers and accomplish repairs.
• Repair body or structure of the Helicopter according to specifications.
• Reinstall repaired or replacement parts for subsequent riveting or welding, using clamps and wrenches.
• Read work orders, blueprints, and specifications or examine sample or damaged parts or structures to determine repair or fabrication procedures and sequence of operations.
• Locate and mark dimension and reference lines on defective or replacement parts, using templates, scribes, compass, and steel rule.
• Cure bonded structures, using portable or stationary curing equipment.
• Communicate with other workers to fit and align heavy parts or expedite processing of repair parts.
• Clean, strip, prime, and sand structural surfaces and materials prior to bonding.
• Repair or fabricate defective sections or parts, using metal fabricating machines, saws, brakes, shears, and grinders.
• Remove or cut out defective parts or drill holes to gain access to internal defects or damages, using drill and punch.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualified Candidates For Sheet Metal, Structural Helicopter Mechanic Position Will Have The Following Education/Experience:

• 
  

  3 years of experience as an Aviation Sheet Metal, Structural Helicopter Mechanic is required.

• 
  

  6 of 24 months of recent experience as an Aviation Sheet Metal, Structural Helicopter Mechanic is required.

• 
  

  Sheet Metal work on Helicopters is required.

• 
  

  Knowledge of numbers, their operations, and interrelationships including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.

• Knowledge of equipment, tools, mechanical devices, and their uses to produce motion, light, power, technology, and other applications.
• Knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and the appropriate tools to construct objects, structures, and buildings.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A valid clear driver’s license.
