The Huntington Beach Police Department serves 201,000 permanent residents in this
Southern California coastal community. " Surf City USA" , located 40 miles south of
Los Angeles is known for its 8 1/2 miles of pristine beaches, sunny Mediteranean
climate, and the largest 4th of July parade west of the Mississippi. The Department
has 233 sworn officers and 140 civilian employees. Speciality assignments include
Investigations, Narcotics, Motors, K-9, Traffic Accident Investigation, and our Aero
Unit. The department has three MD500 helicopters in service, with dedicated
officers and support staff.
