Arctic Sunwest Charters go back to the early 1970`s when our parent company, RTL Robinson Enterprises Ltd. Created an aviation department to provide air support to their winter road operations and remote construction projects. RTL is a trucking and heavy construction company that has been operating in Yellowknife, NT since 1968. As the corporate aircraft fleet grew in size and sophistication, the creation of a fixed wing charter company was a natural progression.
Arctic Sunwest Charters was officially established in 1993. The company has since grown to operate out of a 40,000 square foot hangar and Head Office facility located near the Yellowknife Airport. We also operate aircraft on floats and skis from our Float Base located on the shores of Great Slave Lake in Yellowknife‘s Old Town.
