Job Responsibilities

- Exemplifying a safety-first mindset and ensuring that the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards are applied across GKN Aerospace and that all locations are a model of a world class healthy and safe working environment
- Driving the disciplined and rigorous execution of complex data driven problem solving (Black Belt projects as well as Kaizen Events) as part of the LEAN Excellence Model deployment across their assigned area of responsibility
- Coaching their assigned area’s Leadership team in their deployment of the Lean Excellence Model especially by supporting the prioritization of complex issues requiring resolution and assigning methods of approach as part of the Kaizen Event Planning Process
- Displaying exemplary Lean Leadership behavior
- Training & coaching Green Belts to certification completion
- The delegated owner (from the Site Lean Deployment Leader) of the Six Sigma DMAIC program for the site, including both capability building and sustainment, as well as rigorous DMAIC application and execution
- Delivering significant improvement in People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cash and Cost (PSQDCC) targets, meeting their assigned area’s customer and stakeholder commitments, driven by execution of complex data driven problem solving
- Developing DMAIC Expertise across their assigned area, ensuring that they become self-sufficient in problem solving, working with the SLDL and fellow LDLs and GBs/BBs to ensure that all staff are fully certified in problem solving at the appropriate level for their role
- Complying with all legal and regulatory requirements and ensuring that staff are aware of the policies and their individual responsibilities and accountabilities:

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in a Engineering and/or Technical Field
- 7 years of professional LEAN experience in manufacturing with extensive working knowledge of Six Sigma
- U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
- A passion for the Aerospace industry
- Highly enthusiastic for the change to a Lean Thinking organization
- Effective communicator, building effective teams
- Excellent Project Management skills, able to navigate through complex project stakeholder situations
- An understanding of Lean Thinking and Lean Leadership
- The demonstrated ability to influence at the Site Management, Group Leader and Team Leader level, as well as the enabling functions
- Ability to lead, coach and mentor team members
