Working Lead Position: This role requires active participation in avionics installation activities while providing technical direction and oversight to assigned technicians.
The Avionics Lead Installation Technician is responsible for directing and assisting avionics technicians to accomplish assigned functions and coordinating with the Director of Installation Operations on work assignments, work progress, Inspector requirements, delays, personnel requirements, and job assignment turnovers. This position reports to the Director of Installation Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the safe and efficient performance of all assigned duties and personnel.
- Direct and assist avionics installation technicians in accomplishing assigned work.
- Perform duties in accordance with Company policies, the Repair Station Manual, and applicable FAA regulations.
- Coordinate with the Director of Installation Operations regarding work assignments, project status, inspection requirements, delays, personnel needs, and job turnovers.
- Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training in avionics installation practices, shop procedures, safety standards, and Company policies.
- Ensure personnel are assigned only to duties for which they are qualified.
- Assist in maintaining and improving the technical skills and qualifications of assigned technicians.
- Maintain work areas, shop equipment, and materials in a safe, clean, and operational condition.
- Sign for completed work on installation documentation and flight logs and co-sign work performed by technicians within the assigned section.
- Approve avionics and related electronic systems and components for return to service as authorized.
- Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed to meet customer schedules.
