Job Requirements:
  • Tests, troubleshoots, and repairs avionics equipment and electrical components with minimal supervision – including but not limited to: troubleshooting of installations and systems and complete functional testing of avionics and electrical systems
  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair avionics equipment and accessories, in the aircraft and on the bench
  • Ability to identify and correct electronic failures in various airframes using hand tools, test equipment, technical documents, and technical reference materials
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and manufacturers in a timely, effective manner
  • Ensure that repairs are done correctly and in accordance with procedures described in the company’s FAA Repair Station Manual, as well as with FAA Regulations and manufacturer instructions
  • Possess and use sound judgment and technical aptitude to make fair decisions regarding job sequence and techniques, troubleshooting and discrepancy resolutions – to maximize quality and adhere to agreed-upon deadlines
  • Must be able to perform basic tasks such as using hand tools, soldering, wiring repair, and use of test equipment
  • Must possess enough experience to work alone in a productive, self-driven way, but also be capable of working as part of a team with other team members
  • Must be able to proficiently read and interpret wiring diagrams, aircraft blueprints, and schematics
  • Must be able to lift equipment and materials up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to climb ladders, apply finger and hand dexterity in using hand tools, be able to move around the shop/hanger area and within aircraft continuously throughout the workday
  • Must have own tools
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site
  • Must be willing to submit to a drug screen, background check, and be in compliance with all FAA rules and regulations
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • College/university degree or two years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics is preferred
  • Minimum of one-year work experience in general aviation aircraft modification/completion/repair shop is required
  • At least 5 years of successful avionics installation, repair, or maintenance experience with deep knowledge of Garmin, Rockwell Collins, Honeywell, Avidyne, Aspen Avionics, Bendix-King, and/or other leading avionics brands is preferred
  • Preferred Credential: Aircraft Electronics Technician (AET) Certificate by National Center for Aerospace and Transportation Technologies (NCATT)A&P License is preferred
  • Preferred Credential: FAA Licensed Pilot, preferable with an Instrument Rating
