St. Pete Air has an opening in its avionics shop for an enthusiastic avionics technician to join our team. Position will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of avionics equipment/systems in general aviation aircraft, accomplished in accordance with the St. Pete Air Repair Station Manual, manufacturer data, industry standards, and FAA regulations.
 
Responsibilities
 
  • Plan and complete installation of latest avionics systems
  • Ability to lead and complete assigned projects on schedule with minimal supervision
  • Troubleshoot electrical, pitot/static, and additional aircraft systems
  • Completion of IFR/VFR Certifications
  • Bench fabrication of wiring harnesses
  • Sheet metal fabrication of mounts/panel blanks
  • Proficient at reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, systems schematics, manufacturer data, and aircraft manuals
  • Documents all work accomplished in a clear, concise, and accurate manner
  • Customer service and interaction
Job Requirements:
 
Required Experience
 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to understand and interpret wiring diagrams, service bulletins, maintenance manuals and technical data
  • Thorough understanding of aircraft electrical, pitot/static, flight control, powerplant, autopilot, and avionics systems

 

Preferred Experience
 
  • Holds FAA A&P License
  • Previously held or currently meets the requirements of obtaining an FAA Repairman Certificate
  • 1 year general aviation experience
  • Familiarity with electrical/avionics systems on Cessna, Beechcraft, Piper, Cirrus, and Diamond aircraft
  • Familiarity with Garmin, Aspen, Avidyne, Bendix King, L3, S-TEC, Insight, and JPI products
  • Sheet metal / fabrication experience
  • FAA Pilot’s license
  • Self-provided general hand tools

 

Additional Requirements
 
  • Capable of ascending/descending ladders
  • Capable of fitting and maneuvering into tight quarters
  • Capable of lifting 30 lbs.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
Salary Range: $20/hr-$30/hr
