STS Aviation Services is hiring Avionics Technicians to join our team in the Middle East. This contractor role offers experienced professionals the opportunity to contribute immediately to complex avionics modification projects and thrive in a high-performance environment.
Position Summary
As an Avionics Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out advanced modifications, wiring installations, and system testing on commercial and military aircraft. The role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret engineering documentation with precision.
Responsibilities
- Follow Service Bulletins, AMM, wiring diagrams, and other technical documentation to perform avionics modifications
- Safely remove avionic equipment, ensuring all components are disconnected and stripped down correctly
- Install complex wiring harnesses within shelves and panels according to technical specifications
- Modify existing wiring systems to accommodate new installations and upgrades
- Execute wiring terminations including soldering, crimping, and terminal connections
- Test wiring connections using specialised equipment to verify integrity and functionality
- Remove and install shelves, panels, and equipment in compliance with manuals and safety standards
- Manufacture and test wiring looms to precise specifications
- Perform functional and performance testing of avionic systems
- Maintain compliance with company, health and safety, and airport procedures and regulations
- Keep work areas clean, organised, and FOD-free at all times
- Return all serviceable and unserviceable items to stores with correct labelling
- Demonstrate professionalism when interacting with customers
- Stay current with Technical Notices, Quality Notices, and general technical updates
- Participate in training to further develop technical contributions
Qualifications
- Completion of a formal aircraft apprenticeship or equivalent training
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an aircraft maintenance environment
- Recent commercial or military avionics experience required
- Demonstrated experience in aircraft modification and production environments
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturer drawings and wiring diagrams
- Must meet qualifying criteria for all required security clearances
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work requirements in dynamic environments
