Position Overview

A leading OEM in the rotorcraft industry is seeking experienced Avionics Technicians to support manufacturing and production operations. This role focuses on the assembly, routing, and installation of wire harnesses, conductors, and avionics components on new-build aircraft. Technicians will work directly on the manufacturing line ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, FAA standards, and internal quality requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technician with strong electrical and avionics installation experience who wants to advance within a growing aerospace production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, fabricate, and install wire bundles, harnesses, and conductors according to engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Perform routing, clamping, and termination of electrical systems in a production environment.
  • Install avionics equipment, sensors, LRUs, circuit components, and associated hardware.
  • Conduct continuity checks, insulation resistance tests, and validation of electrical installations.
  • Use crimp tools, multimeters, wire strippers, torque tools, and other industry-standard avionics tooling.
  • Identify and correct wiring discrepancies, shorts, and installation deviations.
  • Ensure work complies with manufacturing procedures, quality standards, and FAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve technical issues.

Compensation & Per Diem Structure

  • Hourly Pay: $28–$40/hr (based on experience).
  • Taxable Rate: $15/hr.
  • Per Diem: Remainder as per diem, up to $1,000/week.

Job Requirements:
  • 5+ years of Avionics or Aircraft Electrical Assembly experience (rotorcraft or fixed wing).
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Skilled in wire fabrication, routing, clamping, and termination techniques.
  • Experience performing avionics installations in a manufacturing or heavy modification environment.
  • Understanding of FAA standards, AC43.13, and aerospace wiring best practices.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a production team.
