Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Lead Avionics Technician to spearhead advanced avionics installations, troubleshooting, and inspections on corporate aircraft. This role is ideal for a critical thinker and natural leader with deep expertise in systems like Collins Pro Line, Honeywell Primus, Garmin flight decks, and GoGo Air to Ground Systems, specifically within business-class jets including Challenger, Learjet, Citation, Falcon, and Embraer models. The Lead Avionics Technician will mentor junior staff, coordinate closely with maintenance and structural teams, and ensure strict adherence to FAA regulations and company quality standards, all while thriving in a flexible, work-life-balanced small company environment.
Job Duties
- Report directly to the Avionics Manager, providing regular project updates and coordinating task assignments for timely completion of avionics installation and maintenance projects.
- Lead and oversee installation projects and troubleshooting activities, exhibiting critical thinking and problem-solving skills while working independently.
- Mentor and train newer technicians on processes and tasks related to avionics installation and troubleshooting.
- Work closely with structural and maintenance teams during installations to ensure seamless coordination and minimize workflow disruptions.
- Demonstrate strong familiarity and a solid understanding of avionics systems in various business-class jets, including but not limited to Bombardier Challenger Series, Lear 35/40/45 Series, Cessna Citation Series, Embraer Legacy/Phenom/Praetor Series, Dassault Falcons, and Hawker 400/800 Series.
- Possess a high degree of installation/troubleshooting expertise in various avionics systems and equipment, including, but not limited to, Collins Pro Line 4, 21, and Fusion, Honeywell Primus 1000, 2000, and Epic, and Garmin G500/600, G1000, and G5000 flight decks and GoGo Air to Ground Systems.
- Install, configure, functionally test, and troubleshoot new and/or existing avionics equipment, instrument and static system components, and electrical systems on business and corporate aircraft.
- Interpret aircraft system drawings, wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, blueprints, and certification paperwork.
- Build/install new aircraft wiring harnesses and repair/replace existing aircraft wiring and associated connectors.
- Utilize a range of avionics test equipment to perform operational and functional checks on aircraft systems.
- Use a laser wire spaner to print and label wires for upcoming installation projects, ensuring accurate identification and organization.
- Perform scheduled/unscheduled inspections, including RVSM certifications, 91.411/91.413, and ELT checks.
- Utilize Corridor Aviation Service Software to track work order progress, manage parts, wire, and time, and generate aircraft logbook entries.
- Adhere to established company policies and procedures set in RSM/QCM, as well as applicable FAA regulatory guidelines.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED. Preference for an Associates degree or higher in Aviation Maintenance.
- ASTM NCATT Aircraft Electronics Technician (AET) cert required
- 4 years of progressive maintenance experience and/or training in the business aviation industry or military.
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and understand system drawings, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Must be able to successfully pass a background and drug test.
- Must have an appropriate set of tools.
- Demonstrate a quality-focused attention to detail.
- Be an efficient and respectful communicator.
- Must be able to lift 75lbs.
