Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Avionics/Electrical Technician to provide leadership, technical expertise, and guidance in performing operational, functional tests, and repairs of avionics/electronic, aircraft equipment, and systems.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Six (6) years of experience in an avionics/electrical career field; or two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics and four (4) years of related experience
  • A&P license required
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
  • Demonstrate Technical Expertise: Demonstrate superior technical skills and expertise in avionics and aircraft systems operational testing and troubleshooting.
  • Provide Training and Guidance: Provide direct training to personnel to support company cross-training goals while ensuring a safety-conscious, quality-oriented, skilled workforce.
  • Ensure Quality Installations: Ensure quality and efficiency of all installations, troubleshoot, and teach troubleshooting processes/concepts to provide timely, quality repairs of malfunctioning systems.
  • Repair and Replace Defective Components: Demonstrate the skills and knowledge required to effectively and efficiently repair or replace defective components and wiring to ensure installations meet conformity.
  • Oversee Engineering Changes and Modifications: Oversees the performance and compliance with engineering changes and modifications as required.
  • Operate Test Equipment: Set up and operate necessary test equipment, conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability.
  • Maintain Daily Logs and Paperwork: Demonstrate through diligent compliance the importance of maintaining daily logs and other paperwork, ensure that all work performed on the aircraft is properly and completely documented.
  • Inspect Work of Others: As required, pre-inspect work of others prior to submitting to inspection for approval to reduce rework and inspection time.
  • Provide Technical Expertise: Provide the knowledge and technical expertise in testing and maintaining test equipment and electronic systems and components as required.
  • Enforce Safety Regulations: Enforce the company FOD program, tool control program, 5-S program, and all safety regulations.
  • Adapt to Schedule Changes: Adapt to sudden schedule changes.
  • Coordinate with Other Disciplines: Coordinate with other disciplines concerning projects.
Additional Functions
  • Teach Installation and Testing: Teach the installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems per Engineering specifications, drawings, and maintenance manuals.
  • Self-Inspection Capability: Self-inspection capability for all avionics testing functions in applicable areas.
  • Support Aircraft Certification and Final Phase Testing: In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required.
Other Requirements:
  • Preferred Proficiency in Other Aircraft Systems: Preferred proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of other aircraft systems or disciplines other than avionics.
  • APU Run Qualification and Engine Run Qualification: APU run qualification and engine run qualification preferred.
  • Ability to Read and Interpret Blueprints and Schematic Diagrams: Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • English Language Proficiency: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Uniform Policy
  • Uniform Requirements: Purchase uniforms from designated supplier (CINTAS).
  • Interim Attire: Wear navy-blue shirt/t-shirt and blue work pants/shorts (no denim) prior to receiving uniforms.
  • Suggested Items:
  • 3 T-Shirts
  • 3 Flat front pants
  • 2 Face masks (in case the mask mandate returns)
  • Safety Shoes: Steel-toed shoes required for job duties.
