Responsibilities:
·Responsible
for planning, defining and implementing Systems Safety requirements to ensure
design integrity and safety requirements are in alignment with customer
expectations.
·The
individual will work as a member of an integrated engineering team to ensure
effective Systems Safety Engineering efforts are conducted through
identification and analysis of potential hazards from concept definition
through development, production and product fielding.
·Capable
of performing quantitative reliability, maintainability, system fault tolerance
assessments, Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA), Reliability Growth
Analysis, and maintainability timeline evaluation.  
·Preliminary
Systems Safety Analysis (PSSA) Preliminary Aircraft Safety Assessment (PASA)
·Systems
Safety Analysis (SSA) / Aircraft Safety Assessment (ASA)
·Functional
Hazard Assessment (FHA)
·Failure

and loads analysis; Physics of failure
·Fault
Tree Analysis (FTA)
·Fault
tolerance/redundancy identification/evaluation in system hardware/ software
·Work
with project development to ensure the safe development and implementation of
new and modified installations.
·Work
in accordance with and provide guidance to the Integrated Product Teams
regarding safety assessment processes defined in Society of Automotive
Engineers (SAE) Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) 4761 and 4754A and 14CFR
29.1309.
·Perform
the necessary hazard analysis to identify potentially hazardous conditions and
recommend actions that would contribute to the minimization or prevention of
hazards.
·Manage
System Safety activities on assigned program IPTs. Interface with the customer
and IPT Teammates on safety related issues. Monitor, investigate, and resolve
issues relative to System Safety Engineering.
Job Requirements:
Requirements: ·Must have a solid understanding of the 1309, ARP 4761 and 4754A processes. ·Experience with key artifact development including PASA, ASA, AFHA and FTA. ·experience with aircraft Electrical, Propulsion, and/or Avionics Systems ·experience with CATIA V6 ·knowledge of ARP4754A ·Strong analytical ability is required ·Must have strong computer skills using Microsoft office ·Well versed in all aspects of plant safety ·Able to function as a team member ·Proficient with Design Assurance Level Analysis Techniques ·Must possess a high level of verbal and written communication skills ·Must have good organizational skills ·Good time management skills ·Must have the ability to multi-task ·Must be able to set priorities and evaluate financial impact ·Effectively communicate with all levels of management ·BS in Engineering Discipline (EE or ME desired). MS Preferred ·Aerospace/Defense – 10+ years related experience US Person - This position requires use of Information Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
