ELECTRICAL PROJECT ENGINEER
At SpaceX, we’re leveraging our experience in building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world’s most advanced broadband internet system. Starlink is the world’s largest satellite constellation, providing fast, reliable internet to millions of users worldwide. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system – thousands of satellites, consumer antennas that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing, and the software that brings it all together. We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of Starlink’s potential global impact, and we are looking to add an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to help build our presence in Bastrop, TX.
As a member of the construction projects team, you will work with a group of elite engineers across multiple disciplines to design, build, and activate electrical infrastructure for a variety of projects at the Starlink production facility. You will have the opportunity to drive positive change and own projects from start to finish with the goal of making the SpaceX campus a world-class manufacturing facility. This position is based in Bastrop, TX (Austin area).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the project team, consulting engineers, and contractors throughout the entirety of the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning process for power-specific scope items
- Manage the design, development, and issuance of drawings, documentation, and reports for manufacturing line projects
- Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines from conceptual design through close out and activation
- Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real-time
- Coordinate with electrical utility provider for design/engineering to ensure reliable power service to critical site infrastructure
- Interact with engineers, contractors, vendors, fabricators, and project stakeholders
